‘Middle Watch’ (2022)

To gain hands-on experience working in an animated production and prepare for the professional world, I worked as a 2D Assistant Animator/Clean-Up Artist for Middle Watch during my 2nd Year at AUB.

Directed by John Stevenson, who is best known for directing the DreamWorks feature Kung Fu Panda, and the Director & Story Artist, Aiesha Penwarden. It tells the story of a sailor who must come to terms with the trauma of war and the mysteries of the deep, as he endures another shift on the Middle Watch.

In 2023, the film was a BAFTA nominee for Best Animated Short and since it has been selected to participate in 50 festivals so far.
